Description
A flavorful and spicy Black Pepper Chicken dish featuring tender chicken pieces cooked with aromatic black pepper, garlic, and soy sauce. Perfect as a main course served with steamed rice.
Ingredients
500 grams boneless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup water
2 green onions, sliced for garnish
Instructions
In a medium bowl, combine the chicken pieces with 1 tablespoon soy sauce and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Mix well and let marinate for 10 minutes.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Add the sliced onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant and the onions are translucent.
Add the marinated chicken pieces to the skillet and cook for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is browned and cooked through.
Sprinkle the freshly ground black pepper over the chicken and stir well to coat evenly.
Add the oyster sauce, remaining 1 tablespoon soy sauce, sugar, and water to the skillet. Stir to combine all ingredients.
Cook for another 3-4 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly and coat the chicken.
Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions.
Serve hot with steamed rice.
