Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 pie crusts (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion, garlic, and carrots to the skillet and cook until softened.
  4. Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Roll out one pie crust and place it in a pie dish.
  6. Pour the meat mixture into the crust.
  7. Cover with the second pie crust, sealing the edges. Cut slits in the top crust for steam to escape.
  8. Brush the top with beaten egg.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
