Description
A creamy and smooth sweet potato mash that is perfect as a side dish for any meal.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds sweet potatoes
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- Peel and chop the sweet potatoes into chunks.
- Boil the sweet potatoes in a large pot of salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Drain the sweet potatoes and return them to the pot.
- Add the butter and heavy cream to the sweet potatoes.
- Mash the sweet potatoes until smooth and creamy.
- Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using) to taste.
- Serve warm as a side dish.
Notes
- For a vegan version, substitute butter with olive oil and heavy cream with coconut milk.
- Can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving.
