Ingredients
- 1 pound sausage
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 tablespoon dried sage
- 8 cups cubed bread
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned.
- Add the onion and celery to the skillet and sauté until softened.
- Stir in the sage, salt, and pepper.
- In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes and sausage mixture.
- Pour the chicken broth over the mixture and stir until well combined.
- Transfer the stuffing to a greased baking dish and dot with butter.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown on top.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, substitute sausage with plant-based sausage.
- Feel free to add nuts or dried fruits for extra flavor.
