Roasted Garlic and Herb Butter Turkey Will Elevate Your Feast!

Description

A deliciously roasted turkey infused with garlic and herbs, perfect for any festive occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 whole turkey (12-14 pounds)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 10 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the softened butter with minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, sage, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pat the turkey dry with paper towels and loosen the skin over the breast.
  4. Spread the garlic herb butter under the skin and all over the turkey.
  5. Stuff the cavity with onion, carrots, and celery.
  6. Place the turkey on a roasting rack in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth into the pan.
  7. Roast the turkey for about 3 to 4 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
  8. Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (75°C) in the thickest part of the thigh.
  9. Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add lemon zest to the butter mixture.
  • Make sure to use a meat thermometer for accurate cooking.
  • Leftover turkey can be used in sandwiches or soups.
