Description
Purple sticky rice, also known as black rice, is a nutritious whole grain that is rich in antioxidants and has numerous health benefits.
Ingredients
- 1 cup purple sticky rice
- 2 cups water
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Rinse the purple sticky rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Soak the rice in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Drain the soaked rice and place it in a pot with 2 cups of fresh water and a pinch of salt.
- Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pot.
- Cook for about 30-40 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
- Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a sweeter dish, consider adding coconut milk and sugar.
- Can be served as a side dish or used in desserts.
