Description
A rich and creamy pumpkin chocolate mousse cake that combines the flavors of fall with a decadent chocolate twist.
Ingredients
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 package chocolate cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the chocolate cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water until well combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- While the cake is baking, prepare the mousse by whipping the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- In another bowl, combine pumpkin puree, sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Fold the whipped cream into the pumpkin mixture until fully incorporated.
- Once the cake is cooled, layer the pumpkin mousse on top of the cake.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate cocoa powder.
- Can be topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings for decoration.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
