Description

A delicious and easy-to-make overnight breakfast casserole that is perfect for busy mornings.


Ingredients

  • 8 slices of bread, cubed
  • 1 cup of shredded cheese
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 cup of cooked sausage or bacon, crumbled (optional)


Instructions

  1. In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer the cubed bread and sprinkle the cheese on top.
  2. If using, add the cooked sausage or bacon over the cheese.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  4. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread and cheese layers.
  5. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
  6. The next morning, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Bake the casserole uncovered for 45-50 minutes or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
