A delicious and easy-to-make overnight breakfast casserole that is perfect for busy mornings.
Ingredients
- 8 slices of bread, cubed
- 1 cup of shredded cheese
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups of milk
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1 cup of cooked sausage or bacon, crumbled (optional)
Instructions
- In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer the cubed bread and sprinkle the cheese on top.
- If using, add the cooked sausage or bacon over the cheese.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread and cheese layers.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
- The next morning, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake the casserole uncovered for 45-50 minutes or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to customize with your favorite vegetables or meats.
- This casserole can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
