Description

Mini Beef Wellington Bites are delicious, bite-sized appetizers that combine tender beef, mushrooms, and flaky pastry, perfect for any party or gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef tenderloin, cut into small cubes
  • 1 cup mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the chopped mushrooms until they are soft and any moisture has evaporated. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. In the same skillet, add the beef cubes and sear them until browned on all sides. Remove from heat and let cool.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into small squares.
  5. Spread a small amount of Dijon mustard on each pastry square.
  6. Place a spoonful of the mushroom mixture and a piece of beef on top of the mustard.
  7. Fold the pastry over the filling and seal the edges with a fork.
  8. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Make sure the beef is not overcooked; it should be medium-rare for the best flavor.
  • You can prepare the filling ahead of time and assemble the bites just before baking.
  • These can be served with a dipping sauce of your choice.
