Description

Italian Sausage Flaky Rolls are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or snack, perfect for any gathering.


Ingredients

  • 1 package of Italian sausage (about 1 pound)
  • 1 package of puff pastry (2 sheets)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the sausage and mix well.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a floured surface and cut them into rectangles.
  5. Place a spoonful of the sausage mixture on each rectangle, then top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Fold the pastry over the filling and seal the edges with a fork.
  7. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, use hot Italian sausage.
  • These rolls can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking.
