INSTANT POT CARNE ASADA: Unlock Bold Flavors Fast!

Description

A quick and flavorful recipe for carne asada made in an Instant Pot, perfect for tacos or burritos.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs flank steak
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jalapeño, chopped
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup beef broth


Instructions

  1. Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode and heat the olive oil.
  2. Add the chopped onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
  3. Add the flank steak and sear on all sides.
  4. Stir in the jalapeño, lime juice, soy sauce, cumin, chili powder, black pepper, and salt.
  5. Pour in the beef broth and close the lid of the Instant Pot.
  6. Set to high pressure for 35 minutes.
  7. Once done, allow for natural release for 10 minutes, then quick release any remaining pressure.
  8. Remove the steak, shred it with two forks, and return it to the pot to soak up the juices.

Notes

  • Serve with tortillas, avocado, and fresh cilantro.
  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less jalapeño.
  • This dish can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
