Description
A quick and flavorful recipe for carne asada made in an Instant Pot, perfect for tacos or burritos.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs flank steak
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 jalapeño, chopped
- 1/4 cup lime juice
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup beef broth
Instructions
- Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode and heat the olive oil.
- Add the chopped onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
- Add the flank steak and sear on all sides.
- Stir in the jalapeño, lime juice, soy sauce, cumin, chili powder, black pepper, and salt.
- Pour in the beef broth and close the lid of the Instant Pot.
- Set to high pressure for 35 minutes.
- Once done, allow for natural release for 10 minutes, then quick release any remaining pressure.
- Remove the steak, shred it with two forks, and return it to the pot to soak up the juices.
Notes
- Serve with tortillas, avocado, and fresh cilantro.
- Adjust the spice level by adding more or less jalapeño.
- This dish can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
