Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef tips
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water


Instructions

  1. Season the beef tips with salt and pepper.
  2. Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode and brown the beef tips on all sides.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until softened.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring to combine.
  5. Close the lid and set the Instant Pot to cook on high pressure for 25 minutes.
  6. Once done, allow for natural pressure release for 10 minutes, then quick release any remaining pressure.
  7. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
  8. Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode again, stir in the slurry, and cook until the gravy thickens.
  9. Serve the beef tips with gravy over rice or mashed potatoes.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the beef tips in Worcestershire sauce for a few hours before cooking.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like carrots or mushrooms for a heartier dish.
