Ingredients

  • 12 oz fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)


Instructions

  1. Rinse the cranberries under cold water and remove any stems or damaged berries.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the water and sugar over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add the cranberries to the saucepan and bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.
  5. If desired, stir in cinnamon and nutmeg for added flavor.
  6. Remove from heat and let it cool before serving.

Notes

  • This sauce can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
