Description
A delicious and comforting dessert made with tart cranberries and sweet apples, topped with a crunchy oat and brown sugar crumble.
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh cranberries
- 3 cups sliced apples
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine cranberries and sliced apples.
- Add 1/2 cup of brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt to the fruit mixture and stir well.
- In another bowl, mix the remaining brown sugar, rolled oats, flour, and melted butter until crumbly.
- Spread the fruit mixture evenly in a baking dish.
- Top with the oat crumble mixture.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the fruit is bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
- Can substitute apples with pears for a different flavor.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
