Description

A delicious and comforting dessert made with tart cranberries and sweet apples, topped with a crunchy oat and brown sugar crumble.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 3 cups sliced apples
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine cranberries and sliced apples.
  3. Add 1/2 cup of brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt to the fruit mixture and stir well.
  4. In another bowl, mix the remaining brown sugar, rolled oats, flour, and melted butter until crumbly.
  5. Spread the fruit mixture evenly in a baking dish.
  6. Top with the oat crumble mixture.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the fruit is bubbly.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
  • Can substitute apples with pears for a different flavor.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
