Description
Deliciously sweet and tender glazed carrots, perfect for holiday feasts like Christmas and Thanksgiving.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds of carrots, peeled and cut into sticks
- 1/4 cup of butter
- 1/4 cup of brown sugar
- 1/4 cup of honey
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add the carrots. Cook for about 5 minutes until slightly tender.
- Drain the carrots and set aside.
- In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the brown sugar, honey, salt, black pepper, and cinnamon. Stir until well combined.
- Add the carrots back to the pot and toss to coat them in the glaze.
- Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the carrots are tender and the glaze is thickened.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can add a splash of orange juice to the glaze.
- These glazed carrots can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar and honey according to your taste.
