Description

Fried Mac and Cheese Balls are a delicious and crispy snack made from creamy macaroni and cheese, breaded and deep-fried to perfection.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the cooked macaroni and shredded cheddar cheese.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix the egg mixture into the macaroni and cheese until well combined.
  4. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Once chilled, form the mixture into small balls.
  6. Roll each ball in flour, then dip in beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  7. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Fry the balls in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  9. Remove and drain on paper towels before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add spices or herbs to the cheese mixture.
  • Serve with marinara sauce or ranch dressing for dipping.
  • These can be made ahead of time and frozen before frying.
