Description
A deliciously moist pumpkin bread infused with Florida orange juice, topped with a crunchy streusel and a sweet orange glaze.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Florida orange juice
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1/2 cup streusel topping
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons Florida orange juice (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together the Florida orange juice, pumpkin puree, sugar, brown sugar, and vegetable oil.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- If using, fold in the chopped nuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle the streusel topping on top.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For the glaze, mix the powdered sugar with Florida orange juice until smooth and drizzle over the cooled bread.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- This bread can be frozen for up to 3 months; wrap tightly in plastic wrap and foil.
- For a richer flavor, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the batter.
