Delicious cookies dipped in rich chocolate and topped with festive peppermint for a perfect holiday treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  9. Let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack.
  10. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave or double boiler.
  11. Dip the cooled cookies halfway into the melted chocolate and then sprinkle with crushed peppermint.
  12. Allow the chocolate to set before serving.
