Ingredients
- 1 loaf of bread, cubed
- 1 pound of sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 4 cups of eggnog
- 6 large eggs
- 1 cup of shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggnog, eggs, vanilla extract, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
- In a greased baking dish, layer the cubed bread, cooked sausage, and shredded cheese.
- Pour the eggnog mixture over the bread and sausage, ensuring everything is well coated.
- Cover the dish with foil and let it sit for at least 30 minutes to soak.
- Bake covered for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
