Description

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of bread, cubed
  • 1 pound of sausage, cooked and crumbled
  • 4 cups of eggnog
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup of shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggnog, eggs, vanilla extract, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a greased baking dish, layer the cubed bread, cooked sausage, and shredded cheese.
  4. Pour the eggnog mixture over the bread and sausage, ensuring everything is well coated.
  5. Cover the dish with foil and let it sit for at least 30 minutes to soak.
  6. Bake covered for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
