Description
A delightful and comforting Egg Drop Soup enhanced with a refreshing shredded ginger garnish.
Ingredients
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, shredded
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
- Once the broth is boiling, stir in the cornstarch slurry and soy sauce.
- Reduce heat to a simmer.
- Beat the eggs in a bowl and slowly drizzle them into the soup while stirring gently.
- Add sesame oil, shredded ginger, and green onions.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- For a thicker soup, increase the amount of cornstarch.
- Garnish with additional green onions if desired.
- This soup can be made vegetarian by using vegetable broth.
