Description
A savory and tender pot roast infused with the rich flavors of French onion soup, cooked slowly in a crock pot for a delicious meal.
Ingredients
- 3-4 lbs beef chuck roast
- 2 cups French onion soup
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Season the beef chuck roast with salt and pepper on all sides.
- In a skillet, sear the roast on high heat until browned on all sides.
- Place the sliced onions and minced garlic in the bottom of the crock pot.
- Transfer the seared roast to the crock pot on top of the onions.
- In a bowl, mix together the French onion soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme.
- Pour the mixture over the roast in the crock pot.
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the meat is tender.
- Once cooked, shred the meat with two forks and mix it with the sauce.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider adding mushrooms or carrots to the crock pot.
- Serve with crusty bread or over mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
