Crispy & Cheesy Potato Fritters are a delicious snack made from grated potatoes, cheese, and spices, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 large potatoes, grated
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Grate the potatoes and place them in a clean kitchen towel to squeeze out excess moisture.
- In a large bowl, combine the grated potatoes, shredded cheese, flour, green onions, beaten egg, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix until well combined.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Drop spoonfuls of the mixture into the hot oil and flatten slightly.
- Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add chopped jalapeños to the mixture.
- These fritters can be baked instead of fried for a healthier option.
