Quick and flavorful beef meatballs simmered in a savory Mongolian sauce, ready in just half an hour.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon ginger, grated
1/4 cup green onions, chopped
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a bowl, mix ground beef, garlic, ginger, green onions, breadcrumbs, egg, and soy sauce until combined.
Form into 1-inch meatballs and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake meatballs for 12-15 minutes until cooked through.
In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, water, hoisin sauce, and bring to a simmer.
Add the cornstarch mixture and stir until sauce thickens.
Add baked meatballs to the sauce and coat evenly.
Garnish with sesame seeds and serve over rice or noodles.
