Description

A delicious and creamy green bean casserole topped with crispy fried onions, perfect for holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 cans (14.5 oz each) green beans, drained
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/3 cups crispy fried onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, and half of the fried onions.
  3. Add salt and pepper to taste, and mix well.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven and stir in the cheddar cheese.
  7. Top with the remaining fried onions.
  8. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, use low-fat cream of mushroom soup.
  • Can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving.
  • Feel free to add cooked bacon for extra flavor.
