Description

Christmas cracker toffee is a delicious and festive treat made with buttery toffee, topped with chocolate and nuts, perfect for the holiday season.


Ingredients

  • 40 saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring until it comes to a boil.
  4. Pour the toffee mixture over the crackers, spreading it evenly.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, until bubbly.
  6. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  7. Let the chocolate sit for a few minutes, then spread it evenly over the toffee.
  8. If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts on top of the chocolate.
  9. Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
