Deliciously rich and buttery chocolate cookies rolled in powdered sugar, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- Additional powdered sugar for rolling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the vanilla extract and salt, mixing well.
- Gradually add the flour and cocoa powder, mixing until just combined.
- If using, fold in the chopped nuts.
- Shape the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are firm.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before rolling in powdered sugar.
- Allow to cool completely on a wire rack.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark cocoa powder.
- Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
- These cookies can be frozen for up to 3 months.
