Description

A festive and delicious cheesy pull-apart bread shaped like a Christmas tree, perfect for holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Roll out the dough and cut it into triangles. Place cheese in the center of each triangle and fold to form a tree shape.
  8. Arrange the shaped dough on a baking sheet to resemble a Christmas tree.
  9. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with additional cheese if desired.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add garlic powder to the dough.
  • Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
