Cheesy Corn Poppers are a delicious and crunchy snack made with corn and cheese, perfect for parties or as a tasty treat.
Ingredients
- 1 cup corn kernels
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine corn kernels, shredded cheese, flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk and egg.
- Pour the milk mixture into the corn mixture and stir until well combined.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Drop spoonfuls of the mixture into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add chopped jalapeños to the mixture.
- These can also be baked in the oven at 400°F for a healthier option.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
