Description

Cheesy Corn Poppers are a delicious and crunchy snack made with corn and cheese, perfect for parties or as a tasty treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup corn kernels
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • Oil for frying


Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine corn kernels, shredded cheese, flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together milk and egg.
  3. Pour the milk mixture into the corn mixture and stir until well combined.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  6. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add chopped jalapeños to the mixture.
  • These can also be baked in the oven at 400°F for a healthier option.
