Description

A deliciously creamy and cheesy dish made with cauliflower, perfect as a side or a main course.


Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup of butter
  • 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Steam the cauliflower florets until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk and heavy cream, cooking until the sauce thickens.
  5. Add the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the sauce.
  6. Stir in 1 1/2 cups of cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
  7. Combine the steamed cauliflower with the cheese sauce and mix well.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with the remaining cheese.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, you can use low-fat cheese and milk.
  • Feel free to add breadcrumbs on top for extra crunch.
  • This dish can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving.
