Description

Babka with Hazelnut Chocolate Spread is a deliciously sweet and rich bread that combines the flavors of chocolate and hazelnuts, perfect for any dessert lover.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup hazelnut chocolate spread
  • 1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts (optional)


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast, let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients.
  4. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes.
  5. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  6. Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle.
  7. Spread the hazelnut chocolate spread evenly over the dough.
  8. Sprinkle chopped hazelnuts on top if using.
  9. Roll the dough tightly and cut it in half lengthwise.
  10. Twist the two halves together and place in a greased loaf pan.
  11. Let it rise again for 30 minutes.
  12. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  13. Allow to cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate spread.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.
  • This recipe can be made ahead and frozen for later use.
